Thursday 9th 6pm - $15 PER SESSION First Sweater Teacher – Maria Session #2: 16th @ 6pm Session #3: 23th @6pm Session #4: March 1st @ 6pm Conquer your first, big, scary sweater - from the bottom up with reverse raglan shaping, that looks good on everyone. This is a 4 Session class, starting with gauge, casting on and knitting from the bottom hem, upward. As each session progresses and you will leave with “homework” to have ready for each following session. Materials: Viking Balder or other bulky yarn, 675-10501 yds depending on sz made. Also, 20” or larger circular needle AND DPN’s in US sz#10.5 Skill Level : Advanced beginner – must be proficient in knit, purl, tension/gauge. You should be comfortable knitting at a reasonable pace and able to recognize your stitches. These techniques as well as increases and decreases, picking up and other techniques will be covered in class.
Tuesday 14th, 21st, 28th, 4pm - Leg Warmers for Teens $15 Teacher – Maria Learn to calculate gauge according to your yarn & needles AND knit on Double Pointed Needles! In this class all students will come with yarn and needles and learn to calculate how many stitches to cast on to make their legwarmers fit. Proficiency in gauge is the first step to inventing your own patterns and altering existing patterns for a better fit. Students will have a lot of freedom in designing their legwarmers. This class is open to high school students only. Materials: A set of 4 or 5 double-pointed needles that match your yarn’s suggested gauge and approximately 2 balls or skeins in the yarn of your choice. No pattern is needed for this class. This class is open to High School Students ONLY. Wedenesday 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th 6pm - Leg Warmers for Adults $15 Teacher - Maria - Same class as listed above for teens – However - This class is open to adults only. Materials: yarn and needle of choice and a gauge swatch, which may be knit in class. No pattern is needed for this class. Skill level: Advanced beginner – Students should be proficient in knit and purl, casting on, and binding off. These techniques will be covered in class, along with using DPN’s to knit in the round. You will learn to calculate your gauge according to the materials you bring.
Saturday 11th 3pm - BabyMeBoo Cowl $15 Teacher – Brandy Cowls have remained steadily popular and functional. Learn to make the cowl featured in the shop using 1 skein of soft & special BabyMeBoo yarn! Techniques covered include crocheted cast on, knit, purl, cables and 3 needle bind off. Skill Level: Advanced beginner + Intermediate – Students should be confident in beginning knitting skills and able to knit or purl independently. You will be working techniques mentioned, including crochet cast on. Those not comfortable holding yarn or hook as to crochet should practice making a crochet chain AT THE LEAST, so you are warmed up when class starts. Materials: Scrap yarn (about a yard), 1 skein Misti Baby Me Boo, Size 10.5 needle (May be substituted for #9, 10), Cable Needle, Crochet hook. Any similar yarn may be substituted, gauge is not critical, however your finished cowl may be slightly larger, smaller or have more/less drape depending on the yarn you choose. Be creative!!! Sub yarn may include, 2 skeins Misti Alpaca, 1 Eco Duo, 2 Cascade BabyAlpaca, or any Aran to Chunky wt yarn.
Sunday 12th 4-6 pm – OR Friday 17th 6-8 pm McTwist Hat $15 Teacher – Teraissa Knit the McTwist hat featured at the store, in beautiful Lofty by Kollage.Single, 2 hour session. Materials: Yarn and kits ONLY available TOGETHER at the shop! Please choose your kit and come with needles listed, and gauge determined. If help is needed please see Teraissa or ask a staff member for assistance! Skill Level= Advanced beginner +Intermediate: Great for someone who wants to step out of a plain, boring beanie. Students should be able to work in the round, knit, purl, recognize stitches and be prepared to use DPN’s for closing up the top of the hat.
NOTICE: We have put a policy for classes into effect, and thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation! *** If you are unsure about your skill level ask an employee for assistance. Please pay for your class in advance, and have your materials ready. Classes are limited to a maximum of 5 attendees per session, with no minimum. If a class is full, you may be put on waiting list and also be called to fill an empty space, if you desire – or – To hold your slot in advance, for a repeat class, as most classes will be scheduled again. If you are unsure if you can attend, we will hold your slot until 24hrs before the class, without taking a payment. We ask that you pay for your slot within 24hrs of a class, unless otherwise arranged with the teacher or shop owner. Anyone who pays for a class and cannot attend will be re-scheduled for a private session or may take a different class in lieu of the one that was purchased. No refunds are issued for classes, only a replacement session of an equal time frame.
